Actress Deepika Padukone is one of the leading names in India. She has not only made a name for herself in the entertainment industry with her versatile performances, but she has also represented the country on an international front many times. While she is considered as a role model for many up-and-coming aspirants, the actress is also one of the most trolled among her contemporaries. On Friday, a clip from her old interview went viral on the internet, leaving netizens appalled.

In a roundtable interview for the leading ladies of 2013 with Rajeev Masand, she graced the show with her presence alongside actresses Kangana Ranaut, Vidya Balan and Nimrit Kaur. When asked if they had grown up admiring any actresses, Deepika revealed that since she came from a sports family, films weren’t a big part of her growing up. ALSO READ: WHAT! Adding how she never idolized anyone growing up, quoted by Bollywood Shaadis, the 37-year-old actress said, “ It was just that one Yash Raj film or that one Dharma film, which also looked I an wholesome family entertainer that my parents could take all of us, where the whole family could go together, certainly i did not grow up watching films so i have really not grown up idolizing one or saying i hope my career goes this way or i end of doing things these kind.”
Her answer left the netizens fuming as they dubbed her an insecure and a fake person. While they credited the other actresses for their answers, especially Kangana who grew up idolising Shah Rukh Khan. Taking to the comment section of the post, many redditors even dug up her past claiming she never even appreciated any of her contemporaries. One said, “If this clip was an isolated incident it wouldn't be that bad. On the work front, Deepika Padukone was last seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback movie Pathaan. She has Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter, Prabhas starrer Project K and the remake of The Intern, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan in the pipeline.
